Silverstone Museum
Silverstone Museum
The Silverstone Interactive Museum offers a brilliant opportunity to deliver an exciting, engaging and inspiring trip to your pupils
School groups at the Silverstone Museum can explore the 4000m2 exhibition, that will take them on an exciting journey through the past, present and future of Silverstone and British motor sport. Learn about the engineering and technology that has changed the world of motor sport in our Technology Lab before exploring part of the retired circuit and see what’s racing around the track that day.
Young people can take part in one of our STEM workshops to suit all ages and abilities that link to key stages in the national curriculum and support learning outside the classroom.
Average dwell time on site is approximately 4 hours (includes exhibition entry, space for lunch, access to our outdoor track trail and viewing area, and a curriculum workshop).
OPTIONS FOR SCHOOLS
- Exhibition only – a self-led visit through the exhibition (approximately 2-2.5 hours) @ £7.95 per pupil
- Exhibition + STEM Workshop – a curriculum related workshop led by one of our facilitators in our dedicated Learning Studio (approx. 4 hours) @ £9.50 per pupil
Silverstone Interactive Museum’s engaging curriculum-focused workshops are led by a learning facilitator in a dedicated learning studio overlooking the live circuit. The workshops are designed to extend pupils’ learning during their visit and have a particular focus on STEM subjects. These will be available for all key stages from EYFS to Key Stage 5 including a Forces and Motion workshop for Key Stage 3 and will be supported by resources for you to use back at school.
We charge £9.50 per pupil, which includes entry into the exhibition, use of a dedicated space to eat packed lunches, our Heritage Track Trail and a curriculum-focused workshop. We offer complimentary adult tickets for teachers accompanying a school group within the recommend adult-to-pupil ratio of 1:10 for Secondary Schools and 1:5 for Primary Schools. We also offer one free teacher planning visit for every school group booking.
