You can track real-time weather around the world with the interactive globe, change the way water moves, present a weather forecast and even trigger a mini volcanic eruption! Play with virtual critters from the Jurassic period! Exhibition - In Cloud Country, Abstracting Nature

In Cloud Country, Abstracting Nature – from John Constable to Rachel Whiteread
An exhibition curated by Iwona Blazwick & Diane Howse
Friday 29th March – Sunday 30th June, on the State Floor and in the Terrace Gallery
In 2013 the focus of our visual arts programme will be drawing. Exhibitions in the Terrace Gallery and on the State Floor will explore aspects of drawing throughout history and in contemporary practice.
In Cloud Country is a unique anthology that brings together drawings by some of the world’s most acclaimed artists and includes work from Harewood’s own collection. Guest curated by Iwona Blazwick OBE, Director of the Whitechapel Gallery, working in collaboration with Diane Howse, Countess of Harewood, this exhibition is an homage to drawing from the 18th to the 21st century. Made up of 80 works on paper by artists that cross generations and continents, it includes drawings by John Constable, John Sell Cotman, Henry Moore, Italian sculptor Giuseppe Penone and Rachel Whiteread, the common thread is the abstraction of nature, its inspiration and depiction.

BBC Worldwide and Longleat join forces for a real life Deadly Adventure
31 Mar 2013 - 31 Mar 2017
BBC Worldwide and Longleat Safari & Adventure Park are joining forces to create a spectacular new series of Deadly-themed features at the world famous Wiltshire attraction
The four year plan will see areas of the park transformed in the style of the BBC’s wildly successful Deadly branded programmes which include Deadly 60; Deadly Top 10s; Deadly 360; Deadly Art and most recently Deadly Mission Madagascar as seen on CBBC.
Philip Murphy, Managing Director of BBC Worldwide Live Events said: “Bringing a real-life Deadly adventure to Longleat Safari & Adventure Park is a fantastic opportunity that demonstrates what the Deadly brand is all about, encouraging children to explore the natural world and discover its wonders for themselves.”
From Easter 2013 visitors to the park will be invited to go on a Deadly Safari discovering some of Longleat’s deadliest creatures. Presenter Steve Backshall has voiced a brand new guide to the safari which incorporates fascinating facts and experiences from his on screen adventures. Visitors will be given a special Safari Activity Book full of information and tasks to test their spotter skills as they explore the park, learning about vital predator prey relationships that exist in the wild and encountering some of Longleat’s most famous deadly residents including lions, tigers and wolves.
Also coming in 2013 is a Deadly Challenge zone which will see aspiring Deadly Adventurers pitch their skills against those of some of the world’s most lethal creatures! Can you climb like a macaque monkey, match the strength of a polar bear and dodge a vipers strike? Most important of all, how many animals on the Deadly List can you find in a race against theclock? Check points along the way will feature quizzes and challenges from Steve Backshall who will want to see what each Adventurer has learned about the Deadly creatures they’re tracking.
Deadly Adventure at Longleat will open from 31st March 2013 with entry free with a valid Longleat Day Ticket or Annual Pass. Special seasonal Deadly Adventure events are also planned over the 2013 season starting this Easter to tie in with the opening of the Deadly Safari.
