The Ideal Venue for Body & Mind

Written by: Elmtree Press

We all know that keeping young people focused for any length of time is a challenge. Maintaining their interest for long periods within a classroom environment can be hard work but it doesn’t have to be like that. With a bit of creativity and planning, it is possible to put together a programme that stimulates both body and mind.  As conference organisers we know the benefit to delegates of using all of our resources – inside and out.

As a University, we are used to hosting regular events for school parties including visits, higher education taster days along with advice and guidance on preparing for university. On each occasion we make the event as interactive as possible with group activities, quizzes, campus tours and opportunities to use a variety of spaces both within and around the campus.

We have events where delegates collect samples on the beach and later analyse them in the labs. Discuss the theory of sports science in the classroom before having a game on the 3G pitch. Break up the ‘chalk and talk’ with a stroll on the moors – the options are endless.

Scarborough has plenty to entertain and educate young minds from fascinating museums such as the Rotunda, to the excitement of the Sea Life Centre. The region also offers a wealth of outdoor opportunities from stunning beaches and the rugged Jurassic coastline to the beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors.

If you are planning a visit to any of the local or regional attractions we can also offer accommodation in single en-suite rooms together with a flexible array of catering options.
