Exciting new education packages revealed at Dalby the Great Yorkshire Forest including ‘Ranger in a bag’ covering;
Amazing Animals
A selection of clues and evidence left behind by forest animals and birds, as well as a minibeast search within the forest habitat, this will inspire the detectives and naturalists within your group.
Fantastic Forests
Get to know the trees intimately, by exploring them whilst blindfolded, then look more closely at their structure to identify them and understand their importance.
Sensory Explorers
A fun parked activity walk to stimulate children’s senses. See, Hear, Touch, Smell, Discover and learn.
Shelter Building
A great team activity. Children work together to construct sturdy shelters from forest materials. Test the structures using the “rain test”.
Orienteering
With 4 courses to choose within Dalby there’s a course for everyone. Orienteering is a great way to learn map reading skills and team work, while discovering the forest.
Stream studies
Using Dalby Beck the session involves studying the flow rate, measuring width and depth to form a profile of the stream bed, as well as stream dipping to investigate the aquatic creatures.
