FIVE OCEANS WE NEED TO PROTECT – WORLD OCEAN DAY (WOD) – 8 JUNE 2023

It is better to think of us having one global ocean that we need to protect.

World Ocean Day takes place every year on and around the 8 June.  Proposed as far back as 1992, ‘World Oceans Day, was finally officially recognised by the United Nation since 2008.  Marked in different ways across the globe, people across the planet are encouraged to act with campaigns, beach clean ups, festivals and special events aplenty across the planet.

Our Oceans

Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, Antarctic (the unofficial 5th Ocean)

It is imperative for us protect and conserve the world’s oceans from global warming and overfishing.  Oceans sustain our planet contributing positively to quality of air, medicine, food, water purification and climate regulation
