Easter Fun and Frolics

Written by: Elmtree Press

There’s lots of Easter fun to be had this weekend, ranging from Easter Egg Hunts to Craft Days and exhibitions.  Wrap up warm (snow is forecast!) and take yourself out and about for a great weekend!

Spring has sprung at Hull’s award-winning aquarium The Deep, and it’s time to learn about new life in the oceans. Hear about the different eggs laid by some of our most popular residents, including sharks, rays, turtles and penguins. Plus take part in their fun-filled family crafts and an activity trail.

Join the British Motor Museum, for a traditional Easter Egg hunt with a bit of a motoring twist! Collect your Easter basket from the Family Station and search for the eggs around the Museum. You can also join them for some ‘cracking’ fun activities this Easter holidays. You can follow their AutoScience Secret Mission Trail, join a family tour and meet their very own ‘mad scientist’.

Hop along for an outdoor adventure at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal this Easter! It’s a wild stitch up! Have a go with a needle and thread to create your own leaf or flower on hessian in Swanley Grange.  Use your map to help Brother Thomas find all of his escaped willow farm animals. They’re hiding in corners of the abbey. Find them and claim your chocolate prize! Pick up a trail in the abbey. Alternatively Bring your hard boiled eggs for an egg rolling competition on the abbey green. How far will yours go? Competition will start at 2pm. Be careful if it is horrible weather though as some events might be cancelled. It is still a fabulous place to explore though, especially in the snow!

Let the kid’s blow off some steam at the Runway Visitor Park and join in with the Easter egg hunt. There is a mini chocolate bunny for each completed form. The egg hunt is being held from Good Friday through to Bank Holiday Monday. All completed forms will then go into a hat and for four lucky winners there’s a fabulous box each of Cadburys goodies to devour. As an added bonus if you can find the Golden egg you will be entered into a separate draw for 4 tickets for a Concorde short tour and free parking.

Follow the themed trail through Thorp Perrow Arboretum for lots of Easter fun. There is lots of Easter themed crafty fun for little ones too, and lots of friendly animals to visit and feed.

Visit the Easter bunny in his burrow at Marwell Zoo and collect your chocolate egg, or alternatively find the GIANT golden egg and ‘crack the puzzle’ for a chance to win four tickets to a sunset safari this summer!

Celebrate Easter Sunday (1st April) at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for a day packed full of fun! Take part in their Easter Egg Hunt between and visit our chocolate & candy factories – perfect Easter Sunday fun! Then visit them between April 2nd and 6th for plenty of other Easter-themed activities, including; a chocolate workshop, live animal presentations, bouncy castles, face painting, arts & crafts and more.

Rubble from hit preschool series PAW Patrol, as seen on Nick Jr., will be appearing at Woburn Safari Park at intervals on Friday 30th March. Go on a fantastic safari adventure and see some of your favourite wild animals in the Road Safari before heading down to the decking of the Mammoth Play Ark in the Foot Safari to see Rubble from PAW Patrol.

This Spring the Bank of England Museum invites its younger visitors to explore our galleries, displays and corridors – with added Easter fun! Get the most out of your visit by following the Easter trail. Answer questions, find three mischievous chicks and a golden egg hidden in the Museum, and hand your answers in at the Information Desk to claim your own chocolate egg!! There will also be an opportunity to showcase your artistic skills: we will have Easter-themed headbands, masks and finger-puppets for you to decorate and take home.
