Discover The Victoria and Albert Museum

Written by: Elmtree Press

The Victoria and Albert Museum is the world’s leading museum of art and design. Its collection was specifically intended to be a resource for students of art and design, and today its ambition remains unchanged. Housed in South Kensington, its galleries include spectacular ceramics, fashion, glass, architecture, metalwork, sculpture, paintings, theatre and performance. In recent years the Museum has undergone an ambitious programme of development which is creating exciting new galleries while revealing and restoring the beauty of the original building.

The Museum offers an extensive variety of ways to learn about and engage with the collections. From specially designed Discovery Areas with hands-on activities where students can handle replica objects and try on costumes, to our atmospheric period rooms and spectacular Renaissance garden with indoor fountain, the V&A is the place to bring school groups to experience inspirational learning. Book one of our inspiring sessions led by practicing artists and museum educators or take advantage of the concessionary educational group rate to visit one of our temporary exhibitions. Our facilities include a lunchroom and locker facilities and a stunning courtyard garden.
