Come & Get Creative at Oxford Castle Unlocked

Written by: Elmtree Press

This year we’re pleased to introduce a new art workshop called Panoramic Prints. This was trialled for us very successfully by a local Year 6 class, who produced some fantastic prints of the Oxford sky-line inspired by the views from the top of our Mound and Tower.

Our new history workshop Centuries of Crime And Punishment is also proving  popular, with over 1000 pupils having taken part in its first year – so a lot of hard labour done on our mangle! Coupled with a tour from our costumed guides it’s an excellent opportunity to visit a real prison and to explore a historical theme over a period of time.

For Key Stage One groups looking to explore life in a medieval castle our hands-on King of the Castle workshop provides an action packed hour of dressing up, objects and even smells to help you experience what went on inside the turrets and towers of a castle.
