University of Bristol Botanic Garden
Education is a core part of our mission at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden and we offer inspiring school visits for primary and secondary school pupils. We have a range of themes and ideas to make your tour relevant and inspirational, as well as in line with the National Curriculum.
University of Bristol Botanic Garden
School tours at University of Bristol Botanic Garden last around 1 hour 30 minutes. Themes include:
- plant habitat
- plant adaptation to the environment
- how plants grow
- pollination
- the role of seeds
- plant evolution
- plants in our everyday lives
- plants in the food chain
As well as our list of suggested themes, we can tailor your visit to match project or syllabus themes. The suggested class size per visit is 30 pupils, pre-organised into groups of 10. If you have a larger group, please contact us to discuss. There is a charge of £3.50 per child, invoiced after your visit. There are toilet facilities on-site including an accessible toilet. The Garden is largely accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters with a designated path leading around the Garden and glasshouses. Most of your visit will take place outside, so please come with appropriate clothing in case of wet weather.
