Llandudno Hostel

Llandudno Hostel

Llandudno Hostel has been specialising in education visits for 40+ years. Your class will have sole use of our venue.  A beautiful Victorian Town House. We offer fully catered packages and can even help book your programme in the attractive seaside resort of Llandudno.

Llandudno has so much to offer for any age school trip, popular for school visits are the Great Orme Package as there is so much history, geography and environmental educational value to enjoy.  This consists of Victorian tram ride up the Great Orme, a visit to the Great Orme Copper Mine a Bronze-Age copper mine which is a unique experience, followed by a self guided walk to discover the Bronze age stone house foundations, finding fossils and enjoying the habitat and fauna.  After enjoying your delicious evening meal, finish the day off with a trip to either the North or West shore beaches and back to the hostel for a drink and biscuit before bed.

Other activities in close proximity are Llandudno swimming pool sessions, Llandudno Boathouse Indoor Climbing sessions, Bonkerz play barn, Llandudno junction leisure centre for multi activity sessions, Welsh Mountain Zoo and R.S.P.B. reserve, which is great for pond dipping.  Llandudno Museum, Llandudno Homefront Musuem, Llandudno Chocolate Experience, The medieval walled town of Conwy, great for exploring Conwy Castle; most schools can experience the castle for free and view Britain’s smallest house on Conwy Quay. There is also the medieval merchant house of Plas Mawr and Tudor Aberconwy House, so plenty of history to seep in.

If Adventure is your thing then Llandudno and Snowdonia have plenty to offer. Go Below cave experience, Greenwood Forest Park and the many attractions of the Zipworld group such as their amazing rope work course at Llanwrst or hike up Mount Snowdon, or gentler walk stroll 2.8 miles to Aber Falls or 3 miles around Llyn Crafnant, or outdoor activities (such as canoeing) at Plas y Brenin.

If Art is your thing we have links with local artists to do environmental art workshops on the North Shore beach, story writing and puppet workshops. There is also the Oriel Mostyn gallery and Venue Cymru theatre useful to entertain.

Llandudno is perfect for learning outside the classroom, with the beach, fantastic views and Great Orme Bronze-Age heritage on your doorstep.  Don’t forget we are happy to give free advice for activities in our local area.  Llandudno is a rewarding learning environment for teaching out of the classroom. When pupils visit the sandy beach for the first time and say “Please Sir, when will I hit the tarmac” you know you’ve given your pupils invaluable learning experience.  Something they will never forget.

We welcome your school to have a fantastic school trip at Llandudno Hostel.
