Workshop Spotlight – Rugby Strips and Textiles

Explore the evolution of rugby strips, boots and equipment since the 1840s to the present day. Students will have the opportunity to investigate the development and improvement of rugby clothing due to innovations in technology; as well as gaining an understanding of changes within the sport, such as the advent of professionalism.

    The workshop will culminate in an object-handling session in which students will get the opportunity to try on the different outfits from the museum’s collection.

    Suitable for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.  All workshops and seminars are offered alongside a stadium tour and museum visit.

    The World Rugby Museum Workshops and Seminars programme received the Sandford Award for Heritage Education in 2010 and 2015, and has retained the Quality Badge for Learning outside the Classroom continually since 2009.
