The geese are back – the swans are coming!
Lancashire

Autumn is the most exciting time! We welcome back thousands of geese and swans from the Arctic. Most of them spend the summer nesting in Iceland and then they make the fantastic journey far across sea and land to spend the winter here with us, where they know they are safe.

We do lots of things to help these amazing creatures and primary school children can learn about the birds as well as about how we look after them and their habitats, in our guided learning sessions.

Look on our website for other sessions for KS1 and KS2, covering subjects as diverse as ‘What happens to my water?’ and ‘How do mammals live in wetlands?’

With fewer school visitors on site, this is the perfect time of year to engage your learners with the natural world.

Come and experience our great value packages for schools. To find out more or make a booking visit wwt.org.uk/learn/learn-at-martin-mere/
