New at Beaulieu for 2018 – learn about the magical mechanisms of the motor car! Using the vehicles in the National Motor Museum’s collection, look at how simple machines such as the lever, wedge, wheel and axle work together to make up the complex mechanisms of the motor car.

    Get your engines revving with an introductory presentation from one of our experienced team members, then set off on a museum tour and self-led museum challenge. Finally, put your learning into action with a hands-on construction workshop as you design and build a vehicle incorporating simple machines.

    The Magical Mechanisms of the Motor Car is just one of Beaulieu’s curriculum linked and made-to-measure programmes which can be tailored to fit the needs of your group. Home to over 800 years of history and heritage, we cover a range of subjects including Science, English, Maths, Design & Technology, Leisure & Tourism, Engineering and Art. Visiting groups have access to our superb lecture theatre and spacious, purpose built classroom and Domus.
