If you are looking to study any aspect of medicine this year, then take a look at the range of visits on offer at Thackray Medical Museum.  With a recreated Victorian slum street, your class will be immersed in the sights, sounds and even smells of Victorian life in Leeds.

    Discover the realities of life before the discovery of pain relief and antibiotics and find out about the tools of the Victorian surgeon.
    With curriculum linked workshops and talks, your class will have a truly memorable experience. Join Florence Nightingale on a trip to the Crimea, meet a Workhouse Matron to discover how the poorest children lived, help a Tudor Wise Woman as she attempts to find a cure for Henry VIII or spend your day as a Victorian to understand public health and living conditions. Workshops and talks are available for ages 5 right up to university age. Get in touch with the museum to find out how a visit will enhance your student’s learning.
