Bring Monkey World to the classroom!
Wareham

Monkey World- Ape Rescue Centre is home to over 250 primates of more than 20 different species. Many have been rescued from abuse or neglect, and Monkey World provides a safe sanctuary with others of their own kind. Combining fun with education, half hourly talks by Primate Care staff explain all about man’s closest relatives.

Dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of primates in need, Monkey World has been the subject of documentaries “Monkey Business” and “Monkey Life” for over 20 years. Visitors can see the stars of the real to life soap opera, then “monkey around” in the south’s largest play area. This year has seen many new arrivals to the park, including orphaned baby orangutan Mimi, who came from a zoo in Moscow to grow up in our orangutan crèche, with foster mother RoRo. The woolly monkeys have also been busy, with 3 births this year, boosting the population of this critically endangered species! Visitors can see all the infants growing up in their natural family groups, playing and learning.

Monkey World is pleased to be able to accommodate school trips this year, including talks, tours and educational workshops.

Our dedicated Education team are also available for outreach visits to classrooms, to enhance your trip further. With talks tailored to suit your teaching needs, please contact the team to discuss your visit. Visit the website to see how Monkey World can help enrich the curriculum for your class.
