    Playhouse Tales of Christmas
    KS2
    Discover the traditions of pantomime and work together to perform your own play.
    Inspired by the toy theatres popular in Victorian times, children bring the magical story of Cinderella to life, try on costumes, produce sound effects and narrate the tale, as they perform their own pantomime.  Suitable for Y2 – Y6.
    £40 per class (up to 30 children). Activity duration: 1 hour 30 minutes. Admission costs apply.

    Frost Fair
    Age 8+
    Enjoy all the festive fun of our wonderful Winter Fun Fair! Glide on the real outdoor ice rink, take a spin on a fairground ride, warm up with a delicious hot chocolate and use your special token for a go at hoopla, the coconut shy or roll-a-ball.
    For age eight plus, ice skates available from child size 12.
    £9 per pupil for the whole Frost Fair package, includes museum entry.  Activity duration 1 hour.

    Visit to Father Christmas
    Experience an unforgettable trip to Father Christmas’s magical fireside Grotto at Pockerley Waggonway, where he’s got a gift for each child. You’ll get a chance to meet his magnificent reindeer too.
    £3 per child. Admission costs apply.

    Traditions of Christmas
    KS1 & KS2
    Fascinating hands-on activities, as children explore the traditions of Christmas past.
    Play parlour games, bake delicious festive treats and make a gift or decoration to take home.
    Children will find out how Christmas was celebrated in the past and the similarities and differences from today’s festivities.
    £40 per class. Activity duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.  A shortened version of this activity is available. Admission costs apply.

    Pricing Information

    Education group day admission charges: £6 per child (aged 5+). One adult admitted free with every five children.
    Children under 5 admitted free.  One adult admitted free to every three children under 5.

    Opening Times

    Open daily 10am to 4pm, last admission 3pm (closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day).
