Pack up your potatoes and bring your beetroot to the Leek Show in The 1900s Pit Village. On Saturday, 7th and Sunday, 8th September, the annual contest will see home-grown vegetables and flowers battle it out in an attempt to take first prize.

    Across the weekend the museum will have flower arranging, family activities, brass band performances, refreshments and much more!

    Local experts will judge all the classes and prize-winning entries which will be displayed throughout the event for you to admire. With the owners’ permission, exhibits will be auctioned in aid of charity at the end of the show.

    Fancy competing in the Leek Show? Entry is free of charge with certificates and rosettes up for grabs! Application forms will be available closer to the event.

    The Leek Show forms part of the month-long Festival of Agriculture, which celebrates the agricultural and rural heritage of the North East of England.

    As with all Beamish daytime events, you can use your Unlimited Pass or Friends of Beamish membership to enjoy this special event.
