    Further Details

There are loads of new attractions to keep the whole family entertained at the Festival, which this year takes place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August. New entertainments for this year include period falconry displays – both flying and static - medieval cooking demonstrations and food tasting, a roving Jester, the King’s Executioner and a medieval puppet show. There will be events taking place in the two arenas for most of the weekend and a new, mounted skill at arms display which puts the horses and armoured riders through their paces.

As well as two battle re-enactments on each day – including a 20-minute re-creation of the Battle of Bosworth on both afternoons featuring hundreds of re-enactors -  there are large living history encampments to explore, jousting, archery, cannon fire demonstrations, guided tours, author talks, a medieval craft market and loads of exciting fun, hands-on games and competitions for children, as well as entry to the award-winning exhibition and free car parking.

There will be a range of food stalls offering something to suit every taste and appetite, and the 1485 Tithe Barn restaurant will also be open for lunches, teas and light refreshments throughout the weekend.

Tickets have been held at the same price as last year and represent even better value for money, as they are valid for the whole weekend. This means that visitors can attend the Bosworth Medieval Festival on either or both days for no extra cost. And with the event running from 10am to 5.30pm on both days, that’s a possible 15 hours of entertainment for the entry price!

Once through the gates, all events during the two days (except talks in the Heritage Room and have-a-go archery) are completely free of charge.
