On the 6th February the top two visitor attractions on Hadrian’s Wall open their doors for the 2016 season. Roman Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum are located in the stunning central sector of Hadrian’s Wall, where the best preserved sections of the Wall remain. The museums at these attractions are always evolving as a result of the ongoing excavations at Vindolanda. Over the winter work has taken place at both sites to install new displays and exhibit some of the very latest discoveries. The annual excavation programme resumes at Vindolanda on the 28th March and continues until the 16th September. Vindolanda is widely regarded as the most exciting archaeological site in Europe and combined with world class modern museums it really is a fantastic day out.
