Horrible Histories: The Movie visits Celtic Harmony!

Last Autumn, Celtic Harmony Camp was invaded by the Rotten Romans as Horrible Histories: The Movie was filmed... the team found it great fun to host the wonderful cast and crew on such a sunny weekend!  They also found it quite shocking to see their Iron Age settlement become Romano-British... and were relying on Queen Boudicca to arrive on her chariot and vanquish the Rotten Romans!

If you  are not familiar with Celtic Harmony Camp then you are missing a treat.  The camp provides a full day of hands-on challenges for up to 150 children per day. Your students will have a unique opportunity to trade and role play using real Artefacts in the Numeracy Challenge, they are Farmers, Hunters, Miners etc. and trade for goods of different values. Then the children use Maths to convert their trip pocket money into reproduced Celtic coins, to choose a souvenir from the Trading Post. In order for the children to take part in the Numeracy Challenge, please ensure that they bring pocket money to trade in the shop, as the two activities are run together (suggested spending money £2 – £5). If you prefer we can prepare gift bags in advance for a certain value. Please notify us in advance if you don’t wish to do the trading.

Secure your unique adventure and become one of the Boudicca’s Warriors for a day on https://www.celticharmony.org/book-a-visit/

Frogmore Paper Mill, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Offer business skills and fun outside the classroom for children aged 11 and above.

Give secondary school age students an experience as close to real as possible by bringing them to Frogmore Paper Mill. Delivering Enterprise activities outside the classroom adds an extra touch of reality.

Their Enterprise Days give a ‘real life’ experience of the workplace with a bit of fun thrown in.  Working in groups, teams are given individual job roles within ‘their company’ to brainstorm, produce, market, cost and present paper based products. Teams hit a few typical hindrances along the way, with staff holidays, health and safety issues and indecisive client whims, all of which add an edge and allow students to experience more of the mill, while adding a touch of reality.  It is an ideal day to focus your GCSE or A Level students studying Design and Technology.

Enterprise Days are offered at £18 +VAT per student. Email education@frogmorepapermill.org.uk
