There are also some exciting October half term activities for families and children from Saturday October 27 to Sunday November 4, including a free Pumpkin Nature Trail and Animal Encounters every day (check times on entry). On Thursday November 1 from 11am to 3pm there will also be a special Hedgehog Day courtesy of the People?s Trust for Endangered Species.?? There?ll be a chance to meet a hedgehog, find out all about its strange habits, do some hedgehog crafts and ask as many questions about hedgehogs as you like.
The park?s two new adventure playgrounds, both completed this year, have been a huge success with visitors and took over six months to build. Go Wild!, for children and adults over six years old, features a challenging assault-style course of swings, log jumbles, climbing ropes and spider nets set in nearly an acre of lovely woodland? while Mini Go Wild! is a mini adventure playground featuring similar fun activities for younger children.
The park has timed animal feeding sessions throughout the day, animal encounters on certain days and keeper talks about the amazing wildlife. The park is owned by Carol and Roger Heap, who are dedicated to wildlife conservation and also run the Chestnut Centre Conservation and Wildlife Park in Derbyshire and Battersea Park Children?s Zoo in London.
