Scarborough Art Gallery
Scarborough Museums Trust provides innovative, hands-on learning experiences to engage and inspire young people of all ages with heritage, arts and culture. At Scarborough Art Gallery, situated on Scarborough’s beautiful Crescent, we are able to offer unique learning experiences to delight and inspire your pupils.
We are experts in finding creative ways to make our collections accessible and engaging for visitors and we offer curriculum-linked workshops across our sites covering History, Science, Geography, Art and Design, English and Maths.
Our cross-curricular workshops include stepping back in time to the Victorian Seaside, dressing up and making seaside crafts. We also offer artist-led workshops to create work inspired by our collection, from seascapes to posters. Pupils will develop a wide range of skills, from historical enquiry and oracy skills, to creative writing and new art and design techniques. We are also able to support pupils to achieve Arts Award Discover or Explore and are a registered Arts Mark centre.
Alternatively, you can lead your own class or group around our venues, supported by a range of resources.
During the school holidays visitors can enjoy a vibrant family events programme.
All school visits must be booked in advance. To find out more go to www.scarboroughmuseumstrust.uk.com/learning/schools-learning-programme or email learning@smtrust.uk.com
