Rotunda Museum
Scarborough Museums Trust provides innovative, hands-on learning experiences to engage and inspire young people of all ages with heritage, arts and culture. At the Rotunda Museum, overlooking Scarborough’s coastline, we are able to offer unique learning experiences to delight and inspire your pupils.
There’s lots to see, including giant dinosaur footprint fossils and our Speeton plesiosaur!
We are experts in finding creative ways to make our collections accessible and engaging for visitors and we offer curriculum-linked workshops across our sites covering History, Science, Geography, Art and Design, English and Maths.
Our cross-curricular workshops include getting hands-on with fossils from our Jurassic coastline to unravelling the mysteries of the Stone Age. Pupils will develop a wide range of skills, from historical enquiry and oracy skills, to creative writing and new art and design techniques. Alternatively, you can lead your own class or group around our venues, supported by a range of resources.
We also have a vibrant family events programme during the school holidays and host the annual Yorkshire Fossil Festival.
All school visits must be booked in advance. To find out more go to www.scarboroughmuseumstrust.uk.com/learning/schools-learning-programme or email learning@smtrust.uk.com
