‘Ranger in a Bag’ self-led resources including lesson plans, worksheets, safety notes and curriculum links are available to hire to help you explore the forest. Topics you can discover include; Amazing Animals, Fantastic Forests, Sensory Explorers, Shelter Building, Orienteering and Stream Studies.

Other site facilities to compliment your visit include the fantastic ‘Grandfather oak and the curious forest’ play area located in Low Dalby, Adderstone Field play area and the Enchanted Woodland, picnic and BBQ areas throughout the forest, visitor centre with toilets, café and meeting rooms to hire, bike hire, cycle skills area, Tree-Top Junior and miles and miles of graded way-marked cycle and walking trails.

We deliver a wide range of educational options for nurseries, schools and colleges in the nation’s forests. If your school wants a more guided session exploring the forest ,why not try the environmental education packages on offer from Dalby Activity Centre including mini-beast hunting, shelter building and orienteering. Our friendly, qualified and experienced staff will help students discover new activities in a safe, relaxed environment.  All activities are flexible, allowing you to choose the level of challenge that will best suit your group. Dalby Forest is home to an abundance of internationally important wildlife species and is also a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site, where you can experience the magic of seeing the Milky Way with the naked eye.

Glacial valleys to the south create a unique ‘rigg and dale’ landscape, while the north of the forest sits on an upland plateau. The landscape offers a variety of different trails – whether you are looking for a gentle stroll, challenging bike ride or active run – all amid breath taking scenery.
