York's Chocolate Story

York's Chocolate Story
The Guided Tour (1 hr – 1 hr 15 mins)
Take your students on a delicious journey through York’s rich chocolate history. From the ancient origins of the cocoa bean over 4,000 years ago to the city’s legendary chocolate-making families – Rowntree, Terry, Tuke, and Craven – who created world-famous treats like KitKat and the Chocolate Orange. Learn how their innovations transformed chocolate from a luxury enjoyed by the few into an everyday treat loved around the world. Along the way, students can sample chocolate, get hands-on with chocolate-making, and watch our chocolatiers in action!
