Calvert Trust Exmoor is the South West’s premier outdoor activity destination for people with all types of special educational needs and disabilities.
Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of Exmoor National Park, the accessible residential adventure centre enables people of any age and ability to experience exciting, challenging and enjoyable adventure activity breaks, with their “it’s what you CAN do that counts” philosophy.
The 5-star rated residential centre offers a structured programme of exciting activities tailored to the specific needs of the group, and is specifically designed and equipped to cater for all. Activities on offer including climbing, archery, horse riding, sailing, accessible cycling and many others. Their activities allow children and young people to work together, building confidence and self-esteem through overcoming challenges, and fulfilling elements of national curriculum Key Stages 2-4 and beyond.
The centre has also been accredited by the National Accessible Scheme as being suitable for part-time wheelchair users, independent wheelchair users, assisted wheelchair users, visually impaired guests and hearing impaired guests. Many guests are surprised by how much they can achieve at Calvert Trust Exmoor. The centre’s fully catered accessible accommodation consists of en-suite single, twin and triple bedrooms, as well as a number of apartments with open plan kitchen and living space, which can be booked on either a self-catered or fully inclusive basis. The centre also offers H-track and mobile hoists, shower chairs, electric beds, trembler pads, and other loan equipment to make your stay more comfortable regardless of your disability.
Other facilities on site include a fully accessible swimming pool with high needs changing facilities, a Jacuzzi, children’s play area, games room, bar, sensory room and a fully glazed, elevated communal space with fantastic views to the south-west across Wistlandpound Reservoir into South Devon.

Our residential centre is open 24/7 all year round except between Christmas and New Year. Our office is open for enquiries and bookings 9am-5pm 7 days a week.
