    Bristol Museum & Art Gallery delivers  inspiring educational programmes  to meet the needs of various groups including; primary and secondary school groups;  Home Educators; Cubs, Beavers, Guides and Brownies; Adult Learners;  Group travel organisers; overseas students and EFL groups.

    Take time to study magnificent art, discover the dinosaur that once roamed Bristol, see original Banksy works, find out fascinating facts about rocks and soils, get up close to Egyptian mummies, handle objects from the ancient Greeks and emerge yourself in natural history. Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is home to world class collections, just waiting for you to explore.  Temporary exhibitions and special events are also held throughout the year.

    School workshops offer interactive learning experiences. Children get to handle real museum objects, meet the experts, participate in role play and storytelling and carry out hands-on activities designed with age and learning needs in mind.

    In addition, special school offers and themed events are introduced to accompany temporary exhibitions and other museum projects, including Chinese New Year.

    Coach and adult educational groups are most welcome. Bristol Museum & Art Gallery can tailor itineraries to meet your group travel needs. From behind the scenes tours and meet the curator experiences to special gallery talks and reserved tables in the café – we will do our best to tailor the offer to meet your needs.

    Pricing Information

    A group of 10+ must book in advance. 1 in 10 adults go free to exhibitions.  £35 set fee for independent school group visits to exhibitions

    School workshops range from £3-£6 per child depending on length of session and resources required. Accompanying adults are free.  Most school workshops require a ratio of 1 adult for every 6 children.
