Woburn Safari Park

The wild is closer than you think when you visit Woburn Safari Park,
nestled in the heart of Bedfordshire and just off the M1. School group
prices and packages can be tailored to suit you.

Woburn Safari Park
offers an escape to the wild plains, jungles and savannahs of Africa
without leaving the country. Enjoy the Road Safari and get up close to
beautiful tigers, lions, rhino, giraffes and many more. The cheeky
monkeys living in the African Forest love nothing more than showing off
their acrobatic skills between vehicles!

Woburn Safari Park – Schools

A school trip to Woburn Safari Park provides students of all ages with a wonderful opportunity to learn about and get up close to many of the 1,000 wild animal residents of the park.

Our Woburn education programme is available for all ages from nursery up to post graduate level and students where they will discover the conservation work we do.

Get a fascinating insight into the animals as you drive around the Road Safari with a special tour guide (part of the Enhanced package option).

Choose your own adventure with great flexibility to select a school trip package and cost option that suits you.

•    Safari adventures by coach or bus as you travel through beautiful wildlife reserves,
coming face-  to-face with a host of majestic animals.
•    Discover more in the Foot Safari and get up close to lemurs, penguins, meerkats, and more!
•    Brand new outdoor classroom for ‘al fresco’ learning experiences, overlooking the
parkland home of the largest herd of giraffes in the UK.
•    Watch a full programme of talks and demonstrations with parrots and birds of prey, sea lions and penguins.

Enjoy a 30 minute interactive session in our Woburn Visitor Enrichment Centre which combine technology with artefacts.

Give learning outside of the classroom a new dimension. Schools can book an educator to join them on their coach journey around the drive through.  As they make their way through the various animal enclosures, their guide will give them an interactive tour including information on animal adaptations, conservation and how we care for our animals, along with lots of fun facts. This is a great way for schools to get more education into their day and link again with the national curriculum.

Alternatively you may prefer to take your school on a Foot Safari where they can explore on foot smaller mammals, birds and sea lions. All of our sessions are linked to the national curriculum and give children the chance to learn more about animals and conservation in a lively, hands on way. Key Stage One and Two can discover more about endangered species, habitats, feeding, senses and moving or grouping animals. Key Stage Three can find out more about endangered species and the law, habitats and adaptations and classification whilst Key Stage Four can enjoy learning about the role of a zoo or how Woburn helps conservation.
