Technicians: The David Sainsbury Gallery – For KS3+
Step into a fascinating world of STEM careers for a peek behind the scenes in our brand new interactive gallery. Experience what it’s like to create visual effects on a blockbuster film set, analyse blood samples in a medical laboratory, operate a robot in a manufacturer’s workshop, fix a fault atop a wind turbine and much more. Science Fiction: Voyage to the Edge of Imagination – For upper KS2+
This immersive exhibition will take groups on an adventure to explore visions of the future through the science of today. This exciting experience brings together fact and fiction and can support engagement in a number of subjects and topics, from gathering evidence and research in science to storytelling and creative writing for media studies and English literature. Uncover hidden gems including authentic objects from celebrated movies, TV, and books, as well as paintings, artworks, and photography.

3D documentary in IMAX – For KS2+
Experience a 3D documentary in our IMAX theatre, choose from Antarctica (U) where you’ll join Benedict Cumberbatch as he explores the mysterious and wild continent of Antarctica revealing how what happens there affects every single one of us or A Beautiful Planet (U) where you’ll experience life on the International Space Station as you journey into orbit around our home planet.

Power Up–groups
A hands-on gaming experience. For ages 7 upwards (KS2+). For the ultimate STEM engagement trip, bring your group to Power Up and get straight into the action in our hands-on gaming experience. Featuring consoles and video games from the past 50 years, from Pong to Pacman, Minecraft to Mario. There’s something for everyone in your group at Power Up.

    The museum is open daily from 10.00–18.00 (last entry 17.15). Galleries start to close 30 minutes before the museum closes.
