Your adventure begins in London. Here you will meet the first of your costumed guides who’ll prepare you for your pilgrimage to Canterbury. As you leave your guide to walk alongside Chaucer’s pilgrims, you’ll find yourself in the midst of a story-telling contest. Five of Chaucer’s colourful and entertaining tales of love, infidelity, intrigue, courtship and death are brought vividly to life as you make your journey through the recreated medieval scenes and listen to the audio guide. When you reach Canterbury, you will be met by a second costumed guide who will take you to your ultimate destination- the shrine of St Thomas Becket.

Set entirely in the historical St Margaret’s Church, this is history and literature at its most engaging and immersive. Don’t miss out on the chance to explore your medieval heraldry or sample some tasty apple juice in our dedicated medieval shop located at the end of our tour! The experience appeals to school groups of all ages and group sizes.

A complimentary Meet and Greet service is available on request; we can welcome your group to Canterbury  and lead you to the attraction, starting the day with some fun and helping you to get your bearings in the area. Lunchrooms are also available at small additional cost of around £1/student for groups of minimum 25.

We also offer a large number of workshops and joint tickets to other attractions, including sessions on medieval writing, clay token making, brass rubbings, bushcraft and modern drama approached to Chaucer, and itineraries with the River Boat Tours, Canterbury Walking Guides, Canterbury Roman Museum and The Westgate Towers.
