Our Time Tunnel features Robert Opie’s incredible collection of packaging and advertising from the past 150 years. The galleries offer an immersive experience of British consumer culture to reveal a deep understanding of how attitudes in society have impacted on what and why we buy.

The Branding Hall displays evolutions of iconic British brands such as OXO, HP Sauce and Marmite. Alongside our permanent displays, we have a changing program of temporary exhibitions from Gender in Advertising to Punk London – keep up to date on our website.

The Museum is just around the corner from Portobello Road Market and a half an hour walk to Holland Park and the Design Museum.

"Students were able to see real examples of packaging and brands - this supported their learning in class. We most valued the workshop because it was well structured and allowed the students to see the process of creating a new product and packaging. The facilities were modern and safe, and the displays are student friendly, allowing them to see real objects from different eras."

“We really valued the discussions coming from looking at the developments in packaging in the galleries and designing packaging in the workshop - good to get students thinking about the everyday products they take for granted. It has opened their eyes to the issues and decisions involved in design and marketing a new chocolate bar."
