On Wednesday 11 July, schools from across the counties will travel to the National Memorial Arboretum to remember, celebrate and understand some of the legacies left by the WWI generation. This free youth festival will combine a series of self-led and facilitated workshops, covering a range of subjects from Humanities to PE.

    The festival, for KS3 and KS4, will be looking at the technological advances, social change, the roles of women, the British Empire, experiences of those in the trenches, and pioneering medical advances that have come from the First World War. Sponsored by The Royal British Legion, this event is free to attend, and a limited amount of coach bursaries are also available on application. Places for this festival are filling fast, and pre-registering with the Arboretum IS required.
