The new ‘Discover Land Rovers’ Trail’ is a family friendly trail where visitors can explore some of the Land Rovers in the Museum’s collection in a fun and interactive way. See the first pre-production Land Rover now 70 years old and discover what makes this much loved British brand so iconic.

There are also family 'Adventure Tours' each day with the costumed guides bringing to life some of the amazing adventure stories behind some of the cars, how they went through jungles and deserts often with no 4x4 or sat nav - how did they do it? … come and find out!

To round off a visit to the Museum there is the opportunity to make your own short animated film. Drop in to the Learning Space and start by creating a storyboard, then build a Land Rover model to star in your very own animation using ‘Animate It!’, the easy to use stop motion animation software and app developed by Kudlian Software and Aardman - the world famous animation studio and creators of family favourites such as Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Morph.

Emma Rawlinson, Life Long Learning Officer at the British Motor Museum said “Our aim is to make visiting the Museum as fun and engaging as possible whether you are  0 or 90! Our animation workshops, family trails and special family tours offer plenty to get everyone involved and entertained this May half-term!”

In addition there is a dedicated area for under 5s – where they can explore motoring play with toy cars and a play table, as well as ‘sit in’ the Museum’s ‘push along’ cars.

All activities are included in Museum admission. There is no need to pre-book, just drop into the Learning Spaces when you visit. At busy times timed tickets will be issued. All materials are supplied, just bring your imagination!

Museum admission is charged at: Adults £14, Children £9 (5-16 years) under 5’s free, Concessions £12 & a Family £39 (2 adults & up to 3 children). Buy 1 day and get 12 months free if you Gift Aid your entrance.
