Get hands-on and experience a touch of luxury at Beaulieu this February half-term.
Inspired by the National Motor Museum's dazzling new display, The Luxury of Motoring, we're inviting all our visitors to enjoy a taste of the finer things in life this half-term.
Discover what life was like for those at the top, then take a peek 'below stairs' to see how their chauffeurs, maids and cooks lived. Pick up your Hands-On Half-Term Pass Book and collect a stamp from each of the activity stations.
There’s loads of hands-on activities to get involved in: Take inspiration from the glittering display of Lalique car mascots in The Luxury of Motoring to create your own mascot design.
Drape yourself in luxurious fabric and strike a pose as the iconic pose of the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy. Rumour has it that one of the earliest top hats nearly caused a riot when it was first worn in public, create a stir by making your very own top hat to take home, and get your hands on an array of motoring artefacts. Chat to Mr Stephens about life as a chauffeur to the aristocracy and if you're lucky you might even be able to spot him driving around the grounds in his historic vehicle!
Get hands-on in Palace House's Victorian Kitchen as Lord Montagu's Cook or her Kitchen Maid prepare traditional dishes.
Visit the monk in Beaulieu Abbey to pick up some medieval building tips and learn how to make an arch. Try on a monk's habit to see how it compares to the luxurious motoring fabrics.
