Now in its fifth year, this superb model railway event will feature more than 25 top-quality layouts across all major scales ranging in size from a tiny lunchbox model to a giant 40ft long scale model of Billingham in the North East. The line-up consists of Barnhill MRC’s new ‘O’ gauge layout Kingsbury, Middlesbrough MRC’s Billingham in ‘OO’, Leicester (Belgrave Road) in ‘OO’ by the Abingdon and District MRC, Anderby Creek in ‘OO’ by Coventry MRC, Elmfield in ‘N’ gauge by Dave Westwood and many more. The Hornby Magazine team will also be exhibiting one of its layouts, its rebuilt Southern Region theme model Twelve Trees Junction.
Part of the Show’s appeal is that it brings layouts from distant areas including two layouts from Scotland (Bere Banks and Rannoch Moor) along with others travelling from as far apart as Somerset, Kent, North Wales, Warrington and Grimsby.
Tom Caren, Show Manager at the British Motor Museum said, "The popularity of this Show continues to grow each year. With more than 25 layouts, 30 traders and modelling demonstrations from specialists, this Show is a great event for the whole family.”
Demonstrators will include Alan Buttler from ModelU offering his laser scanning demonstration together with weathering regular Mick Bonwick. David Wright will be offering an insight into building construction, the 82G Loco Clinic and demonstrations alongside one of the big feature layouts.
A further highlight will be the extensive trade area which includes more than 30 stands. Hornby Hobbies is returning to the Show and will be displaying new products currently in development. Gaugemaster, Cheltenham Model Centre, Grimy Times and Digitrains will also be present plus many more.
Free courtesy buses will operate on the Saturday connecting the exhibition with the main line network at Leamington Spa train station.
