Calling all Wildlife Rangers! A summer of fun awaits as you have a brilliant adventure completing Dusty’s Wildlife Ranger challenges.

Visit us between 22 July and 4 September and, armed with your fantastic Wildlife Ranger log book, enjoy adventure after adventure, recording your progress by collecting stickers along the way!

This year sees the launch of our NEW Ranger Training activity! Come out on a mini safari and learn some awesome new skills like animal tracking, how to spot birds and mini-beasts and how Wildlife Rangers look after the reserve.

You can also enjoy close up encounters feeding our feathered friends, see what lies beneath the waters at pond dipping and learn why our colourful Caribbean flamingos are so pink.

Paddle out on an exciting canoe safari (for the over 5s), or hire a bike to wind your way through our wildlife trails – little Wildlife Rangers will love this activity as we have stabilizers and toddler trailers. There’s also endless fun to be had crawling through the tunnels at Water Vole City, and for more play-time adventure, try to find the giant eggs at the middle of the swans’ nest maze!

Complete as many activities as you can to receive a fantastic Dusty’s SUPER Wildlife Ranger sticker.

These amazing activities are only available during the school summer holidays and are included in the admission price (free for members) so don’t miss out!

For your school visit this Autumn, why not learn all about birds, flight and migration, as thousands of ducks and waders fly to the centre from the Arctic to spend their winter in Wales.

You can investigate migration in more detail in “How can we help migratory birds?” and get hands-on exploring different parts of birds’ bodies to find out how they are adapted for flight in “How do birds fly?”.

There’s still chance to come pond dipping until October half term. Our “How do animals live in a pond?” session is particularly suitable for classes covering “The Big Dip”.

We are now taking bookings for our sensory wetland Santa experience for schools. This includes a seasonal story, hand-feeding the birds with Santa, a special Christmas craft to take home, and a close encounter with our beautiful white snow geese, exploring how they live in their arctic homes. This session lasts around 1.5 - 2 hours and is suitable for nursery to year 2 children. It is extremely popular so make sure you book early to get your preferred date!

With so many hands-on experiences available to suit all ages, why not check out our website or contact the centre to find out more!
