We are easily accessible by private and public transport, just a 10 minute bus ride from Hammersmith Tube station and close to both Barnes and Barnes Bridge stations.
I think the Wetland Centre is beautifully designed - it feels very much like being in the Countryside.
Teacher - Poplar Primary School
The learning objectives were more than met. If anything the trip has inspired some of the teachers to revisit the learning the class.

I was blown away by the organisation of the day. The welcome that we received was fantastic and everything slotted into place so easily. It was completely hassle free!

The whole experience was, and always is, fantastic - with so many opportunities for learning.
Teacher - Immanuel & St Andrew CofE Primary School
... a really good learning session. Well delivered and well timed, and our mixed group of 7 to 11 year olds really enjoyed it. Both myself and the accompanying teachers were very impressed.

Jubilee Half Term Family Activities
2 Jun 2012 to 10 Jun 2012
From 2 June you can be among the first to see our new family of otters – our very own swimming superstars in a year that sees London playing host to the Olympics! Watch the otters playing, foraging, feeding, swimming and grooming. These are Asian short-clawed otters, the smallest species of otter in the world, and they are more active in the day than other otter species.
June half term begins with the Jubilee bank holiday, marking the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. We’ll be joining in with the celebrations in our own special wetlands way, so come and be regal among the reedbeds here on Queen Elizabeth’s Walk.
First, create your own bird-themed bunting from recycled materials. (There’s actually a bird called a reed bunting that you may see when you walk around the reserve!) We’ll provide all the materials.
Then weave your own wetland willow crown to take home (£1).
Pond dipping is always very popular: grab a net and join our wetland team to find out what’s swimming beneath the surface.
And, when you are ready for a break, visit our Water’s Edge cafe for our Jubilee ‘Best of British’ menu and a glass of Pimms.
Children's Photography Workshop
10 Jun 2012
This workshop is an exciting opportunity for children age 10-15 to learn the basic principles of photography using a fun approach which enables them to understand the art of photography by framing and recording light. Ross Paxton, the course tutor, will use a large format camera similar to the ones used in the Victorian ages to demonstrate how this process directly relates to the use of the children's own hi-tech digital cameras. The aim of the course it to give children a basic understanding of photography and no previous experience is necessary.
