Hatton Farm Village is all about turning back the clock and allowing children to develop through adventure and discovery. A visit to Hatton allows young minds to explore the countryside, its animals, where the food they eat comes from, how animals and humans work together and the importance of outdoor activity.
Your trip to Hatton includes an exciting mix of shows, demonstrations and adventure play designed for your group at your pace – because you can decide what you would like to include during your visit from our daily programme.
You can tailor-make your visit for either Farm Fun (ideal for Foundation Stage) or Educational (developed for Key Stages 1 and 2).
Farm Fun
Choose from either a guided tour of the Farm, paying particular attention to elements that will appeal to your group, or alternatively simply have a ‘meet and greet’ by one of our friendly staff members who will tell you what is going on at the Farm during your visit, allocate you an area to return to for lunch and then allow you to make your way around the Farm independently.
Educational
With an educational visit you select 2 of 6 key topics, all created in line with the National Curriculum, which will be led by our dedicated guides, these being Caring for Animals, Farm to Fork, Growing, Natural Environment, Variation and Growth and Change – so you can ensure the children gain the best experience to support learning in the classroom.
With both types of group visit, also included are demonstrations and shows that are both fascinating and entertaining. Discover the agility of birds of prey in the stunning ‘Bird-o-Batics Falconry Displays, watch Hatton’s Sheepstakes or listen to Tristan the Runaway Tractor’s story as he takes you on a journey across the Hatton Estate.
Each of our groups will also receive free animal feed for the children, outdoor adventure play including panning for gold, bouncy castles and trampolines, agility trail and JCB Young Drivers Zone as well as our huge indoor soft play area.
Essentials
The health and safety and well-being of our visitors is of paramount importance to us. There are hand washing facilities on site with warm water, an undercover lunch area provided, fully trained first aiders always on site, disabled toilets, free coach parking and on request we can send free teachers packs and a Hatton risk assessment. A free familiarisation visit is available upon request.
