Eureka! is designed especially for children aged 0 - 11 with exciting cross curricular galleries and innovative learning journey programmes. All exhibits and programmes are hands-on, minds-on, sparking creativity and active enquiry - inspiring children to discover and learn through play. Schools visiting Eureka! can organise a gallery visit or combine it with a curriculum linked workshop. Alternatively we can visit your school with our outreach programmes or visit after school and during holidays with Eureka! Explores.
Eureka!’s galleries have strong links to the National Curriculum, providing an ideal opportunity to support and enhance Creative Curriculum themes through exciting Learning Journeys. Eureka!’s galleries are open 10am – 4pm
Tuesday to Friday term-time and 10am – 5pm 7 days a week on holidays, half terms and weekends. Our downloadable gallery guides (www.eureka.org.uk/downloads) can be used as part of a self-guided visit and are packed with ideas for exploring Eureka!

The Science of Sport - Key Stages 1 and 2
3 May 2012 to 20 Jul 2012
Taking part in sporting activities is great fun and can also improve general health and wellbeing by helping us to be more active, confident and happy. Understanding the science involved with different sports can also enhance understanding about performance and in this hour long session Eureka! will aim to show you how.
Speed, precision, stamina and balance are crucial elements for many sports and your class explore some of the forces which can affect them such as friction, air resistance and gravity. We’ll also explore how advances in science have changed what we wear and the impact on some of the equipment which we use.
This interactive show will be full of audience participation so be prepared to warm up and join in!
