Bell Heath is situated in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside near the Waseley, Clent and Lickey Hills - just half an hour from central Birmingham. Our experienced and highly-qualified staff work with schools and community groups to create bespoke programmes which suit individual budgets. We provide residential and day visit experiences.
Our facilities include residential accommodation in recently refurbished dormitories/toilets/showers, a large dining room and kitchen, and two indoor classrooms. The centre is fully-accessible via ramps and has two new disabled toilet/shower rooms with shower chairs, hoists and changing tables. We also have four disabled beds and wheelchair-accessible paths around the grounds. Our brand new ‘Tipi-style’ campsite has small sleeping Tipis, a large meeting Tipi, kitchen/dining tents and adjacent kitchenette/toilets/classroom.
Healthy meals are provided for our fully-catered residential groups. There are always two menu options available, and most special diets and food allergies can be catered for. Pupils are encouraged to make healthy choices, reduce food waste, and to help in the dining room. We also welcome self-catering groups who can hire our fully-equipped kitchen.
School groups can book for 1, 2, 3 or 4-night residential stays and also day visits – during term time, weekends and school holidays. Community and other groups can also book all year round.
Our Adventurous activities provide excitement and challenge, and can be tailored to suit all ages and abilities. We have a climbing tower, bouldering challenge, archery range, low ropes course, hill walks, mountain bikes and trikes (suitable for special needs and non-cyclists). Everyone can participate and reach their potential in our safe, fully risk-assessed environment. We are an ideal base for D of E expeditions.
Team-building challenges can be done by school, community and corporate groups. We have a variety of problem-solving activities at different levels and a range of different orienteering courses. Bushcraft activities are ideal and can include shelter-building, making objects from wood, making fires and cooking.
Environmental activities are also popular as we have woodlands, meadows, small stream and a pond. We can do a wide variety of curriculum-related topics - habitats, plants, senses, river studies and creative environmental activities. We run Forest Schools and bushcraft (ASDAN award) courses. Our John Muir award develops environmental and conservation skills.
For schools we have new programmes: World War 2 evacuation, creative curriculum, Gifted and Talented challenges, behaviour and attendance programmes.
